- 1 "The First Conflict: Brothers"
- "Dai ichi shōtotsu: Kyōdai" (第一衝突: 兄弟) July 2, 2013
- After her father becomes engaged, Ema and her pet squirrel, Juli, have to move in with her thirteen new stepbrothers. She arrives and is met at the door by the eldest son, Masaomi, and the youngest son, Wataru. Upon arriving in the living room, she is embraced by Tsubaki (the fifth son), who is then promptly smacked in the head by his identical twin, Azusa–– the sixth son. Ukyo, a lawyer and the second son, introduces himself while bringing in tea. Ema also discovers that one of her own classmates, Yusuke, is one of her new brothers. Subaru and Kaname (the ninth and third sons, respectively) also walk into the living room and introduce themselves. Ema is then surprised to learn that the super popular singing idol, Futo, is also one of the thirteen; unfortunately, he is currently on tour in Hokkaido and she is unable to meet him until later. As they talk in the living room, an exhausted Ema becomes dizzy from a fever and goes to her room to rest. Louis, the eighth son, arrives home from work and go to say hello to her before joining the other brothers in preparing for dinner. Later in the evening, Ema runs into Kaname as he passes by her room. He kisses her on the cheek, to which she responds by asking him to stop teasing her, because she "knows" that he is a kind person. After Kaname leaves, Ema decides to go take a shower and accidentally bumps into Subaru, who has only a towel around his waist. Embarrassed, she runs into the living room where the twins, Tsubaki and Azusu, are apparently confessing their love to each other. Ema runs away when Tsubaki tells her that he did indeed confess to Azusa, only to laugh at her, explaining that the two of them are voice actors and that they are only rehearsing from a script. Ema eventually arrives back in her room and lays in her bed, wondering what new adventure she had just gotten herself into. After the ending song, Yusuke is seen lying in his bed, asking himself, "Ah, why? Why does she need to be the one that is my sibling?"

Back home, Ema meets Futo, who calls her his "stupid, beautiful sister." She also greets Ukyo, who then asks her to make a birthday cake for Subaru. She comes back from the market to find Louis, who had fallen asleep across a couch on the landing above their living room. He wakes and then almost immediately insists for her to let him do her hair. While Louis is styling her hair, he finds that the curling iron is broken and rushes off to find a new one. Futo walks in, demanding to know where Louis is, and, finding he isn't at the house, storms out of the house. Once Louis is finished with Ema's hair, she bakes and decorate's Subaru's birthday cake. The brothers, including a blushing Subaru, are presented the beautiful, fruit encrusted confection. Later on, Ema decides to go to the living room, where Tsubaki is teasing Subaru about liking Ema in a non-sibling way. Embarrassed and (quite) drunk, Subaru says mean things and later realizes that Ema had heard all of it. He goes to apologize, but ends up kissing Ema, then passing out on top of her. The "valiant" twins arrive on the scene and haul Subaru off of Ema. When they question her about what had happened, she protects Subaru by insisting that it was a complete accident. The following day, Ema visits a media store and sees Futo. She loudly calls out his name, which promptly blows his "cover." He shoves his CD's into her hands and commands Ema to rent them for him before rushing off. At home, she gives the CD's to Futo and he whispers suggestively that he will give her a "punishment" in her room. She is also rather clumsy, often tripping over and forgetting things. The origin of her delusions came from Yūta himself, when she saw Yūta in his delusional phase at the balcony above Yūta's apartment. They eventually become close and develop feelings for one another and start dating, but Rika's delusions keep their relationship from progressing.
- Satone Shichimiya (七宮 智音 Shichimiya Satone
- Voiced by: Juri Nagatsuma
- Satone was Yūta's junior high school classmate. Although she considered Yūta to be her only true friend, she ended up transferring schools without saying goodbye during their second junior high school year. She transferred to Shinka Nibutani's junior high school where they became close. She suffers from delusions and calls herself "Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII" (ソフィアリング・SP・サターン7世?) and addresses Yūta with the nickname "Yūsha" (勇者?, lit. "Hero"). Satone is a character from the second light novel and appears in the anime's second season. Yūta and Shinka's delusions began with their admiration and mimicry of Satone's behavior. During her time with Yūta in junior high school, she developed feelings for him, but chose to stay as "Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII" and the "Magical Devil Girl" forever.
- Shinka Nibutani (丹生谷 森夏 Nibutani Shinka)
- Voiced by: Chinatsu Akasaki
- Shinka is Yūta's classmate and class representative, who is also a cheerleader. One of the most popular girls in the class due to her looks, she is generally thought of a kind and gentle girl. The truth, however is that, much like Yūta, she was also a delusional teen who called herself Mori Summer (モリサマー Mori Samā?) and had also chosen a different high school from her previous classmates to escape her past. When she learns Sanae is in possession of the last evidence of her delusional phase, Shinka joins Rikka's school club in order to try and retrieve it. When out of the public eye, Shinka shows her true nature to be bit more bitter and easily irritable, particularly when dealing with Sanae. While Yūta initially admired her or even had a crush on her, after seeing her true colors, he is disillusioned and becomes friends with Shinka instead. Despite her constant arguments and fights with Sanae, Shinka grows to care for her and vice versa. She, like Yūta, has more common sense than the other members of the group.
- Kumin Tsuyuri (五月七日 くみん Tsuyuri Kumin
- Voiced by: Azumi Asakura
- An anime original character, Kumin is a carefree girl who is a year above Yūta and the others. She loves sleeping and often carrying around a pillow (or many) with her wherever she goes. In one extreme case, she is even shown sleeping in a full futon on school grounds. Having been home-schooled before high school, she is very sheltered and conservative, lending her an old-fashioned ladylike demeanor which Makoto finds attractive. Her own "Nap Club" is integrated into Rikka's social group for lack of members. Out of respect for Rikka and Sanae, she earnestly attempts to understand their delusional fantasies. She has a tendency to sleep talk. She is also quite fond of cats.
- Sanae Dekomori (凸守 早苗 Dekomori Sanae)
- Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka
- An anime original character, Sanae is a third-year junior high student who has very long blonde elastic twintails that often prove to be more of a hindrance than a help. Like Rikka, she is extremely delusional and often indulges in fantasy with her. However, unlike Rikka, she is a superb student who is at the top of her class and has already completed the entire junior-high mathematics curriculum. She owns several copies of the magic-spells book which is the remaining evidence of Shinka's delusional days. She is often at odds with Shinka, who she does not believe to be the real Mori Summer. She often ends her sentences with 'desu', emphasizing it to make it sound more like 'death'. She is aware that her delusions are nothing more than delusions. She comes from a very rich family and tends to behave normally around her classmates. She later promotes to the high school where Yūta and friends are studying.
- Makoto Isshiki (一色 誠 Isshiki Makoto)
- Voiced by: Sōichirō Hoshi
- Makoto is Yūta's classmate who sits behind him and often analyzes the other girls in the class. He joins the Light Music Club so he could be with girls and attract their attention by carrying about his guitar, though he does not seem to have learned how to play it. Fond of his thick hair after being forced to wear it short for sports activities for the last three years, he is forced to have his head shaved once more when his notebook containing the "Cutie Poll" of the girls in his class is discovered. In the anime, he gets a crush on Kumin.
- Kazari Kannagi (巫部 風鈴 Kannagi Kazari)
- Voiced by: Manami Shirakawa
- Kazari is Yūta's classmate from the novels, and the class idol. She was in second place in the ranking of the most beautiful girls in his school, although still remains the centre of attention. She had a close relationship with Nibutani in junior high school.
- Kuzuha Togashi (富樫 樟葉 Togashi Kuzuha)
- Voiced by: Kaori Fukuhara
- Kuzuha is Yūta's younger sister who is in the first year of junior high school. She is mature for her age.
- Yumeha Togashi (富樫 夢葉 Togashi Yumeha)
- Voiced by: Mami Shitara
- Yumeha is Yūta's youngest sister, aged five. She finds Yūta's prior fantasy antics intriguing, often refers to them as "cool" and admires or idolizes Rikka.
- Nanase Tsukumo (九十九 七瀬 Tsukumo Nanase)
- Voiced by: Kikuko Inoue
- Yūta and Rikka's homeroom teacher, who is often kind, if sometimes a little sadistic in teasing her students, particularly Rikka. She is called Nana-chan by Yūta and Rikka.
- Tōka Takanashi (小鳥遊 十花 Takanashi Tōka)
- Voiced by: Eri Sendai
- An anime original character, Tōka is Rikka's older sister who supports her by working as a chef at a fine restaurant. She often has to put up with her younger sister's delusional antics, often punishing her by whacking her with a ladle. She is also seen to be extremely acrobatic and flexible, which she attributes to being a rhythmic gymnast when she herself was in high school. Rikka depicts her sister as a high priestess of evil and accuses Tōka of restraining her from her quest to reach the "Ethereal Horizon". She is sometimes seen playing house with Yumeha but on a negative outlook where they are always divorcing.

Plot[edit]
Yūta Togashi is a boy who, during junior high school, suffered from "chūnibyō" (中二病?, lit. "second year middle schoolersyndrome", or "delusions of grandeur"), believing that he possesses supernatural powers and dubbing himself the "Dark Flame Master", therefore alienating himself from his classmates. Finding his past embarrassing, Yūta attempts to start off high school where he does not know anyone, free from his old delusions. This proves to be difficult, however, as a delusional girl in his class, Rikka Takanashi, learns of Yūta's past and becomes interested in him.
As the plot progresses, Rikka becomes more attached to Yūta, who, despite finding her delusions irritating and embarrassing, accepts her. He helps Rikka with a number of things, including founding and maintaining her club and tutoring her. When he joins her on her summer vacation, Yūta learns that two years prior, Rikka's father, to whom she was very close, died unexpectedly due to a terminal illness, causing her to fall into her delusions. After Yūta agrees to help Rikka search for the "Ethereal Horizon" (不可視境界線 Fukashi Kyōkaisen?), which she believes will lead her to her father, she becomes romantically interested in him and vice versa.
Characters[edit]
Hyperdimension Neptunia (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ Chōjigen Geimu Neputyūnu?, lit. "Super Dimensional Game Neptune")is a 2010 role-playing video game developed by Idea Factory and published by Compile Heart (distributed by Sega) in Japan and NIS America in North America and Tecmo Koei in Europe exclusively for Sony's PlayStation 3. The game is a take on theseventh generation era "console war" among the three major consoles: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.[3]
A television anime series adaptation, titled Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation, began airing in July 2013.Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1, a remake of the game for the PlayStation Vita, was released on October 31, 2013 in Japan.[4]
Gameplay[edit]
This game is in essence a story-based adventure game, in the sense that much of the game is spent reading the on-screen text, as in a visual novel. However, the game also features 3D-style dungeon exploration, similar to recent Final Fantasy titles. Like most Japanese role-playing games, the dungeons feature random encounters, treasure chests, and various obstacles. These obstacles can be cleared by utilizing the various unique dungeon skills each character of Neptune's party has.
During battle, the current turn for characters and enemies are displayed at the top right, as well as upcoming turns. When it is Neptune's turn or any other supporting character's turn, they are given a set amount of AP (Ability Points), which determines how many moves they can make. Each different move consumes a set amount of AP. There is a Sword move, which has the character slash an enemy with their weapon, a Gun move, which has the character shoot the enemy with their weapon (or in Neptune and IF's case, a gun), a Physical move, which has the character go straight up to an enemy and punch and kick them, and the Defend command, which consumes no AP, but puts the character in a defending state and ends their turn.
When using a Gun move, the circle next to the Combo Counter on the right displays your current bullet. When the game starts, you will have a default bullet. However, as the game progresses, Neptune and the party will obtain other types of bullets, and you can switch between them during combat with the shoulder buttons. Different bullet types usually have special effects or elemental powers.
Each enemy has a GP gauge, as well as an HP gauge. When that enemy is attacked, the GP gauge will decrease. When the gauge is empty, Guard Break mode will activate. During this time, that enemy will receive more damage than usual until the GP gauge refills.
What sets this game apart from other RPGs is the Game Disc System, which allows Neptune and company to perform various special actions through special combos, accessible and editable through the pause menu. Neptune can summon characters from classic video games by initiating the combo assigned to that game disc, and it will inflict higher than normal damage. Neptune can also activate a transformation state, which is called HDD (Hard Drive Divinity). This transforms Neptune into a much more powerful state, and she will gain access to two additional moves, both of which deal massive damage. Although the default transformation is Purple Heart, Neptune can also install other game discs to change her transformation. Finally, she can also use the game discs to summon an image, which appears on-screen, then inflicts higher than normal damage on the opponent. Although the default image is blank, one can change the image by using pictures in the PlayStation 3 photo library.
While a player is viewing the region screen, you can shop for additional weapons and accessories, transfer to another region through a dungeon excursion, view any side quests, and enter dungeons.[5]
Plot[edit]
Setting[edit]
The game takes place in the world of Gamindustri (ゲイムギョウ界 Geimugyō-kai?, a pun on ゲーム業界 Gēmu gyōkai, "game industry"), which is divided into four regions: Planeptune, Lastation, Lowee, and Leanbox. Each region is completely different from the others, and has a Basilicom where the citizens worship their country's goddess.
Story[edit]
The player takes on the role of the main protagonist Neptune, one of four goddesses who is involved in a long series of conflicts known as the Console Wars. After an incident where Neptune is defeated following a one on three battle with the other goddesses, she loses consciousness and begins dreaming. Upon waking, she finds herself at Compa's house having crash landed earlier in front. Neptune reveals that she can't remember anything up to that point, which leads Compa to believe that Neptune is suffering from amnesia. After hearing from Compa that monsters have began to run loose, Neptune decides to go hunt them along with Compa. During her first hunt, she suddenly transforms into her HDD form, Purple Heart, and defeats a large monster. Eventually the two meet IF, who explains that she is looking for treasure, and Neptune invites IF to join their party. After clearing another dungeon full of monsters, the party heads to the Basilicom to gain permission to travel to other landmasses to fight more monsters.[6][7]

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1[edit]
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 is the enhanced remake of the game for the PlayStation Vita, developed by Felistella. In addition to completely reworked visuals, improved framerate performance, new music and voice acting, various gameplay aspects and plot details have been modified. A new feature dubbed the "remake system" unlocks special game modifications such as new dungeons and in-battle perks.[14] Some characters from the original game were removed, such as Gust, Nisa, 5pb and Red, whilst new characters were added, including the CPU candidates and a series of characters representing game developer companies; Plutia and Peashy from Hyperdimension Neptunia V, in addition to Histoire, are playable as DLC characters.
The original continent travel system involving dungeons has been scrapped in favour of a world map system similar to that ofHyperdimension Neptunia mk2, and the dungeon and battle systems also based on a style reminiscent to that of Hyperdimension Neptunia V.[15] During the development phase, the enhanced Vita version was intended to fill in what were identified as flaws and shortcomings of the original game.[16] Developers aimed to address the concerns of fans, and features of the earlier PS3 version that were often subject to criticism, such as the music and game performance, were given improvements in the new version. The game's theme song is Miracle Portable Mission by nao and the ending song is Mirai Button by Afilia Saga.
Unlike the first four games in the series published by NIS America, a western localization was published by Idea Factory International and it was released on August 26, 2014 in North America, while the European version came out the following day.[17]

Nepgear suggests placing a hidden camera inside Noire's room to discover what she's been doing, but instead found other hidden cameras already placed there. The four Goddesses track the hacker's location down with the help of a female Bi** Gates, with the candidates also going to the same location by tracing the hidden cameras. The Goddesses confront the hacker, a flamboyant man name Anonydeath, who turn out to be a huge fan of Noire. Anonydeath has been taking pictures of Noire using the hidden cameras in her room, which show her cosplaying various characters. Noire attacks Anonydeath in rage but Anonydeath manages to slip away, only to run into the candidates. Anonydeath gave himself up leaving an embarrassed Noire trying to tell the candidates to forget everything they saw. Back on Lastation's Basilicom, Noire discuss her cosplay hobby with Uni, only to be hit by a girl fallen from the sky. The girl introduces herself as Plutia, the Goddess of Planeptune, much to everyone's surprise.
